JOSEF KAISER (1910-1991). W latach 60. Kaiser należał do ścisłego kierownictwa II etapu przebudowy Karl-Marx-Allee.

JOSEF KAISER (1910-1991). German architect, author of some of the most interesting Berlin implementations of post-war modernism in the GDR: the Kosmos and International cinemas, the Berolina hotel and Café Moskau at the representative Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin. Some of Kaiser’s objects were not fortunate enough to survive in their original condition today. In 1990, the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the GDR was demolished (1967). In 2005, the Warenhaus Center at Alexanderplatz was expanded, while its characteristic honeycomb façade (now Galeria Kaufhof) was destroyed. In the 1960s, Kaiser was a member of the top management of the second stage of the reconstruction of Karl-Marx-Allee.
